We’re seeking a proactive, passionate, confident and committed Digital Business Development Manager to deliver exciting and innovative new business and drive new and diverse work.  This role, whilst based in our HQ, will involve extensive UK-Wide travel.

You will be an experienced business development manager, ideally with digital skills, bringing your experience to work in partnership with clients and the wider ICE teams to co-create and delivery of high quality and sustainable digital solutions. As someone who thrives on a challenge, you will need to be comfortable working independently, and as part of a team and be dedicated to engaged client relationship management.

You will always see opportunity for improvement, development and growth and will be comfortable in converting leads through to closure. We’re looking for someone who has a wide experiences of supporting and ideally leading B2B development to win work with new or existing clients.

An eye for detail is essential for the role as well as a good understanding of the software development lifecycle.


Key elements of the day to day role:

=        The Digital Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in the ICE Digital team in development of new business. Supporting the Chief Technology Officer, you will be working with a wide range of clients across the public and private sector.  

=        To identify and develop potential new digital business or clients, working independently or as part of the ICE Team

=        To contribute and develop proposals for new work and to be active in the sales process for developing new and existing clients

=        Maintain strong customer relationships and actively build a network of clients


The person:

Improve ICE’s market position and achieve financial growth.

Work with the CEO to define long-term strategic goals, build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions. Planning and overseeing new business projects

Effectively manage Client Relationships  

Develop the Business Development team to deliver new and existing business development

Using effective client management skills, ensure that there are strong and effective relationships between clients and ICE

Developing quotes and proposals

Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate

Preparing presentations, Tenders and sales displays, developing quotes and proposals


Essential existing skills/experience:

Degree level or Equivalent, 3 – 5 years’ experience in business development in a digital / IT environment

Operational business development experience within a digital arena

Deploys Consultancy approach and methods

Track record of delivering financial results

Effective and influential communication skills – verbal and written

Closing Skills, high motivation for business development

Prospecting Skills & Sales Planning

Sales experiences – converting client need into proposals, bid writing, pitching and presenting, developing (hunting) and deepening client offer (e.g. farming), campaigns and thought leadership
