Engagement Lead

We are looking for passionate and driven people who want to work within the community in Gloucestershire as part of our senior team delivering a holistic health and wellbeing service in workplaces and community settings.

Key elements of the day to day role:

To lead and manage stakeholder engagement within the Health and Lifestyle Services contract in Gloucestershire.

To deliver presentations, attend meetings and create opportunities to increase awareness and manage capacity of the service to meet demand.

To make sure services and organisations within Gloucestershire are aware and are appropriately referring into the Healthy Lifestyle Service.

To provide direction and leadership to the Healthy Lifestyle Coaches regarding their engagement activity within the community.

To own and develop partnership working opportunities across the Gloucestershire area.

To play an active part in delivering the vision for improving health outcomes for the people of Gloucestershire, specifically in the most deprived areas.

Overseeing the planning and management of HLS Gloucestershire’s promotion and engagement activity, maximising coverage for certain events.

The person

You will be a people-person, an enthusiast for how healthy lifestyles can impact positively on people’s health and wellbeing, someone who is fantastic at building rapport with an ability to persuade and influence at all levels.

You are willing to get out into the community yourself to develop relationships. You will be a self-starter, eager to understand and develop community cohesion.

You enjoy the detail and making sure stakeholders and partners understand what the service does and how to appropriately refer, helping to educate and improve the service.

You will be used to working towards outcome targets.

Essential existing skills/experience

Fantastic communication skills, both verbal and written, including presentation and reporting skills

Effective negotiation and persuasion skills

Relationship and stakeholder management skills

Analytical and problem-solving skills

Programme management skills

Ability to prioritise and organise competing workloads

IT literate and able to confidently use online methods of communication. You will also need to have a good eye for detail and be accurate with data input and analysis.

Understanding of a wide range of health interventions, including weight management, physical activity, stop smoking advice, alcohol brief interventions and early years.

You will be travelling to various events and venues around Gloucestershire, so own car is essential.

Full training for all roles will be provided along with a programme of continued professional development.

This is a community facing role, as such post holders will need to be able to independently travel across Gloucestershire.
